Fruit Tree Pruning

Fruit Tree Pruning is carried out for a variety of reasons:

  • to promote fruit yield

  • keeping the tree at a size to make fruit picking more accessible

  • to prevent limbs getting too long and snapping

  • remove dead and diseased wood

  • thin and reduce crown size to improve over shaded locations

All of the above procedures need to be carried out carefully so that the tree is not over stressed and forced into an early state of decline.
